About this project
Specializing in the performing arts means that Flyleaf Creative routinely faces the dilemma of working with performance shots virtually identical to past ones already in wide circulation: “the seated violinist in black formal wear,” “the leaping prima ballerina," just to name a few. Their very familiarity renders them invisible. In a case of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, our key branding elements rely on a color palette of shifting gradients and stripes and its application to featured photography. Suddenly, “the leaping ballerina” is freshened— thanks in part to its engagement with the brand components. The end-results are dramatic layouts that distinguish the Festival uniquely from others who may be presenting the same artists elsewhere.
